Asteria’s Highlights of 2024.. And Welcome to 2025!
Happy new year everyone! What a year it’s been. We’ve just rolled in to 2025 and we have certainly done it in style! But before we get to our very exciting New Year’s event, let’s revisit our top 10 events from 2024. We’re less than a year old but we have stormed into the industry in style! We are all about, more is more and bigger is better. We love sparkle, we love circus, we love theatre and we love to CREATE.
Let’s start with our first big event..
Dancing on Ice
One of the first events we worked on this year was Dancing on Ice with our elephant puppet Noo Noo! Noo Noo is a huge roaming animal act which walks, his head moves, along with his trunk and eyes AND he also makes elephant noises! We brought our elephant puppet onto the ice for a very special Greatest Showman themed routine! Surrounded by ice skaters and fire dancers, Noo Noo certainly was the star of the show! Being the UK’s most realistic elephant puppet for hire, Noo Noo really did shine bright on TV! Noo Noo the elephant is perfect for all kinds of circus show entertainment and jungle themed entertainment. Or anything else you might need an elephant for, even on TV!
Glastonbury Festival
Next up we’ve got Glastonbury Festival! We were part of the opening ceremony at the stone circle. We were providing FIRE. All the artists came together, gathering the energy of the earth and opening the festival to thousands and thousands of people. Approximately 50 thousand people watch this opening spectacle every year. When you look into how festivals originated and the dance that merges with mother earth and brings is all together.. It really is an honour! We love festival performances on all levels, wether it’s fire acts, LED show, interactive walkabout entertainment, we can supply it all.
Goodwood’s Festival of Speed
Our next exciting event of the year is Goodwood’s Festival of Speed! We provided the fire team for Cirque Bijou and Starlight Design. This was for a private party after the main event, that was held on a stage surrounded by an incredible amount of fireworks, G flames and other fiery effects! As part of the 20 minute show we had 2 big slots of high impact fire performance, as well as a part of the show with the worlds most futuristic car. We custom designed sound reactive costume pieces to escort this car on to the stage for it’s demonstration. It was truly unique. This whole job was fully custom. We choreographed the show before we got on site and it all came together seamlessly during rehearsals. And not to forget, one of the most exciting moments was having a professional stunt driver, drive around 3 of our girls with flame throwers, it was insane! Very much like the films Fast and Furious!
Goodwood Revival’s Drivers Ball
Not long after Festival of Speed, we had the Driver’s Ball. This is the private event held directly after Goodwood Revival with a theme of Studio 54. The decor was beautiful and the atmosphere was incredible. For this we provided a 4 person fire team and the show started directly after the famous white horse paraded around the room. We were presented to the room by an incredible dance and drag act just before us and our show included high level fire props and flame throwers. Just like Studio 54 was back in the day.. The event felt truly wild.
Arcadia - All Together Now Festival
The iconic Arcadia booked us for fire shows at All Together Now Festival in Ireland! We had our own very special podiums built either side of the famous portable stage, the Bug. We performed 4 x 20 minute fire performances per night alongside some incredible djs with a big fiery finale at the end of each show. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a unique company with their recycled aesthetic. Did you know that make all their stages out of scraps! Amazing!
Rock N Roll Circus
As if things weren’t exciting enough, we then rolled into our next circus. For Rock N Roll Circus we provided MORE FIRE! Jaw dropping fire shows on the centre stage between the big acts. Music acts include Becky Hill, Richard Hawley and more! We also worked alongside other highly skilled circus artists including a hula hooper, cyr wheel performer, high wire artist, aerial duo act, crystal ball performer, bubbleologist and more! There nothing more fun than a bit of rock n roll! We really are pyromaniacs!
Team GB Homecoming
We also had the honour of performing at the Team GB Homecoming for the Olympics! For this we were part of a 10 person choreographed LED dance act which was also televised on TV. Working with Circus Uncertainty and Flambe, we integrated all the perfect graphics to welcome home our hard working team. Certainly a proud moment for England!
Fanta’s Beetlejuice Campaign
Come Halloween, we had a very exciting job for Fanta which was overseen by Warner Brothers and working for Live Performers. We designed and provided 9 custom costumes presenting the ghosts from the Beetlejuice waiting room. Painted professionally by our top 2 make-up artists, these characters truly looked authentic - just like from the movie! We had the waitress, security guard and also the butcher. These characters played parts in an immersive walkthrough with riddles in a custom built Beetlejuice installation in London. It simply looked incredible! We also had a top secret job running alongside this one that we’re not allowed to discuss. But it had over 200 artists on it for a private party and it was certainly the most impressive event of the year - it certainly was a very exciting week for Asteria!

NYE in the Maldives
Finally, and to finish off the year, we have been lucky enough to bring in the new year in the Maldives with Area 51! We’ve had a duo fire show and duo LED act sent out to perform shows and also a beautiful professional mermaid to lounge by the pool and entertainment the kids. For this island we provided New Year’s Eve entertainment, pool party entertainment and also acts for Russian Orthodox. This was all presented on an incredible stage built between the pool and the sea. NYE had a UV underwater theme and Orthodox a lovely elegant theme. We truly count our blessings when we take our work abroad. What a way to bring in the new year!
We only launched this year and we’ve been so busy that we haven’t even had time to do any blogs until now. But we’re rolling into the new year very grateful and full of inspiration and drive to be even bigger and better! We’ve got big ideas and a whole plan of exciting new shows, costumes, props and other builds. We cannot wait to see what 2025 brings. A huge thank you to all our clients and artists.
